The hardest challenge in life
is actually finding it. I love
being back in New York. The
energy, elegance, and edge
are fabulous. But could the months I just spent in rural Montana be the reason this
place seems so amazing?
I have a confession...
While it may not seem so, I might be a tad jaded. Your see I've been around the block a few too many times. And when I've had enough, I need an escape hatch. For me that's a place that requires three flights to get there.
Lewistown grounds me.
Right now I could stand in the middle of Main Street and scream "FREE GUCCI!" and nobody would have any idea what I'm talking about. Most people in Montana live their lives simply and honestly.
Manhattan inspires me.
At the Grand Central Post office there was a really scary clerk. A tough New Yorker, she growled and scowled. Then one day I told her I needed stamps to send my Mom a card. Suddenly she melted! With tears in her eyes she told me there was nothing she loved more than getting cards from her kids. How sweet!
Maybe splitting my time between Manhattan and Montana isn't what actually brings balance to my life.
Rather it should be simply practicing what I've been taught.
It doesn't matter where you live.
How you live is what matters!
