Movers and shakers
Well, there goes the neighborhood.
Recently in the press it was reported
that superstars Justin Timberlake and
Jessica Biel may move full-time to
Montana. It seems that the duo want
to raise their impending tot in a more
suitable setting versus Beverly Hills.
Hence they will live full time in their
home located behind the gates of the
Yellowstone Club. This billionaire's
hideaway is adjacent to the Big Sky
Ski Resort, Yellowstone National
Park, and close to bustling Bozeman.
Joining requires a guarantee of mega self
worth, a three hundred thousand dollar
initiation fee, thirty six thousand dollars
a year in dues, plus a property investment
with annual assessment fees. Condos start
at four million and homes at five, so it's
no wonder that over one billion dollars in
real estate has been sold within the club's
confines since 2013. With membership
hovering at five hundred, celebrities like
Justin, Jessica, Bill Gates, Eric Schmidt,
Leonardo Dicaprio, and Mary Hart think
it's the ultimate hide out. Want to join?
Away from it all
Not everyone wants to own. Hence
there's plenty of posh places to visit
like The Ranch at Rock Creek. For
$1000 a night per person you can
"glamp" in a tent straight out of the
Ralph Lauren store on Madison.
Dudes like LeeAnn Rimes, Eddie
Ciboria, Carrie Underwood, and
Vince Vaughn spend weeks on this
range for a price that's out of range
for most folks here in the Treasure
State. Imagine if some of that cash
was spent in central Montana...
Howdy cowboy
Sadly too few celebrities seem to be
discovering Lewistown. While not
quite as glamorous - my opinion is
that it's far more glorious. We have
our share of millionaires hidden in
the hills outside of town. Recently an
REIT financial analyst from New
York purchased our local hostelry -
the Yogo Inn. He also grabbed the
venerable Waite Mansion. Apparently
he feels that our tiny town is worth
the investment. If only we can only
rustle up more of the same breed!
Round em' up
Nobody wants Lewistown to become
a rest home for wayward Wall Street
waifs. However if one is honest, just
about every major investment in our
community within that last decades
has been initiated by out of towners.
Folks who saw Lewistown for what
it really is and not what it once was.
Sadly most locals of longterm lineage
only see the downside and prefer to
invest their cash elsewhere. Hence
there's plenty of opportunities to bag
a bargain. C'mon let's take a look...
Something's fishy
If we hadn't purchased the Passion Pit - this would have been it.
Just four miles south of town, a forlorn mid century house
sits on eighty nine acres with a half mile of frontage on Spring Creek.
Imagine waking up and fishing for trout from your front yard.
The house has suffered some damage from neglect
but is most certainly worth restoring.
All this can be yours for only
SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Paradise lost
For less than the price of the cheapest condo at the Yellowstone Club
you can own over fifteen hundred plus acres plus deeded land.
An urban cowboy's paradise,
approximately four hundred acres are verdantly tillable.
Meaning even you can grow your own should you want to!
Plus an old log cabin sits waiting
for someone to turn it into a mega ranch complex.
THREE MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.
History in the making
The historic 1905 Fergus house is built from local hand cut stone
and sits across from the Fergus county courthouse.
The current owners have sympathetically added insulation
and rebuilt historically correct windows room by room.
All it needs is a city slicker with the cash and vision to polish it up.
Anywhere else it would be worth at least a million as is.
THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
All this and heaven too
This turn of the century gem simply needs some love.
It's interior is perfectly preserved beneath a coat of mauve.
With a newer kitchen and first floor bath,
it's a treasure just waiting to be discovered!
TWO HUNDRED AND TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
Urbane oasis
You don't have to raise cows or wheat to live in paradise.
Need a getaway for virtually nothing?
Our former high school was converted into condos in the eighties.
With an indoor pool, sauna, and parking it's virtually maintenance free.
Imagine escaping to a two bedroom, two bath condo with mountain views.
ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Totally stoned
The oldest stone house in Lewistown can be yours for peanuts.
Now let's get it straight, this joint needs work.
Basically gutted, it's ready and waiting
for someone willing to invest time, energy, and cash.
Oh... and per my bestie "T"... it's haunted.
FORTY SIX THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS
