As a boy Sundays were a day of rest.
First Sunday School
Then the main event - the service itself.
Next home for a big midday meal.
And then... a NAP!
Back in those days nobody brunched.
Instead the seventh day repast
was an event of pomp and circumstance.

beef roast, or ham baked in the oven.

Upon our return dinner was ready
and served in the dining room.

was that we joined together as one.
